With this free tool, you can create unlimited event countdowns and track them in real-time — individually customized to your events, categories, and schedules. The Countdown & Event Timer uses modern browser technology (LocalStorage) and offers professional share functions for marketing, event planning, and personal milestones.
Enter Event Name
Enter a meaningful name for your event (e.g., "Vacation in Italy", "Product Launch Q2", "Maria's Birthday"). The name will be prominently displayed in the countdown and helps distinguish multiple events.
Select Date & Time
Choose the target date and time for your event. The tool automatically calculates the remaining time in days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Only future dates are allowed – past dates will be rejected.
Choose Category
Select from 8 predefined categories with matching icons: Birthday, Vacation, Wedding, Exam, Sports Event, Conference, Concert, or Other. For "Other", you can enter a custom label (e.g., "Company Anniversary").
Add Event & Start Countdown
Click "Add Event" – the live countdown starts immediately. The tool displays 4 countdown boxes (Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds) with real-time updates every second. The progress bar visualizes time elapsed.
Manage Events
All events are automatically saved in the browser (LocalStorage). You can delete events individually (trash icon) or reset all events at once. Events are sorted by date – next event first.
Share Countdown
Click the share icon (green) next to an event. Choose between 3 options: Direct Link (copy & paste into email/chat), Embed Code (HTML for website/blog with syntax highlighting), or Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Email). Each option shows a live preview of the shared countdown.
Use Progress Bar
The progress bar below each countdown visually shows how much time has elapsed. Color changes based on urgency: Green = more than 7 days, Yellow = 1-7 days, Red = less than 1 day. Use this to prioritize critical deadlines.
Completed Events
When an event expires, the tool displays a green "Completed" message. The event remains saved until you manually delete it. This allows you to use past events as an archive or for statistics.
