FAQ Stundenlohnrechner

1. What can I calculate with this hourly wage calculator?

This calculator is a flexible tool with two main functions:

  • Calculate hourly wage: You can determine your exact gross hourly wage from your monthly, annual, or weekly salary.
  • Calculate salary: Based on a specific hourly wage, you can project your expected gross salary for a week, a month, or a whole year.
2. How do I calculate my hourly wage from my salary?

Select the “Calculate hourly wage” option. Then enter your gross salary and the corresponding period (e.g., monthly). Input your average weekly working hours. The calculator will then determine your exact hourly wage. For an even more precise calculation, you can additionally add annual special payments like vacation or Christmas bonuses.

3. What are "special payments" and how do they affect the result?

Special payments are additional benefits like vacation or Christmas bonuses, or other premiums. When you calculate your hourly wage, these payments are annualized, thus increasing your effective hourly wage. If you calculate your salary from an hourly wage, you can add expected special payments to see your total annual salary.

4. Are the calculated amounts gross or net?

All calculations and results from this calculator are based on gross amounts. This means taxes and social security contributions are not included in the displayed values. The actual amount deposited into your account (net) will be lower.

5. How accurate is the monthly salary calculation?

For high accuracy, the tool does not use a flat rate of four weeks per month. Instead, it uses the precise average value of 4.345 weeks per month. This value is derived from the total number of days in a year and ensures that the conversion from weekly to monthly salary is mathematically correct.

6. Why do I need to enter my workdays per week?
  • Entering the workdays per week is optional but recommended for a complete breakdown of the results. Based on your weekly working hours and workdays, the calculator can also accurately determine your average daily wage in addition to your hourly, weekly, monthly, and annual salary.
